so the icons from shawn in Psych (the one 2 posts below -- omg) and this one make me so happy. I'm sitting here at work just staring at them cuz they're so funny.
I'm starting to feel better about the apartment thing. I'm actually surprised my parents took it so well. Usually they're super resistant to things at first and then I can slowly wear away at them. But I have a feeling my mom is kind of excited: 1.) because I would be so close to home and 2.) because she can help me decorate.
I really need to focus on job searching. Tonight I'm gonna prepare hard core for my interview in Darien on Thurs. And I'm going to email the lady at Taunton Press in Newtown to draw attention to my resume. And I'm going to email Globe Pequot Press in Guilford (a little closer to Meriden than the others) to see if they have any openings; because back in the day I was totally gung ho about working with them but they haven't had anything good for a while. Then I'm going to check Hotjobs/Monster (which I don't do much cuz I usually check Mediabistro) for local jobs, even if they're not publishing related. If I can't get into publishing right now, I have to at least figure out something I can do full time.
How amazing would it be if a publishing job opened up in Hartford??? That never ever happens, but holy shit, then me and Mike could commute together and be a big happy commuting family. I'm even considering joining his and Felix's car insurance plans to keep cost down. Of course there's still the buying a car issue. But good news is that my dad is reluctant to sell the Subaru because he might be able to fix it for less than expected. That would be fanastic! Then I could worry about getting a car later... like in the winter or something. Ok... gotta do some other shit and then get back to work.
