Rayne immediately came to once the sun had set, and she didn’t have to move or open her eyes to know that something was wrong. Not only did she feel drained of every bit of energy she had, but she was sitting in and tied to what felt like one of her dining room chairs. Peculiar. She was certain that she had fallen asleep in her bed, and full of strength. If she had the energy right now, she’d be furious. As such, she found herself lucky to feel annoyed. Finally opening her eyes, Rayne looked around as much as she could with her neck bound to the back of the chair, straining her hands and feet against their bonds to see if they would give her any slack.

“There’s no use in trying that. Just because they’re covered in velvet, it doesn’t mean the silver won’t keep you where I need you to be.” Sarah spoke up as she walked into view. “You know, I figured it’d be a lot trickier breaking into your house. The big bad vampire mercenary and everything. Either you’re really overconfident, or I’m just really good at this breaking and entering thing. Though it’s probably lucky for me that your kind is quite literally dead to the world during the daytime, hm?”

Rayne growled, though the silver around her throat kept the noise from being as vicious as it usually would be. “You’ll pay for this. It takes an amazingly stupid sort of human to break into my home and dare to restrain me. I suppose you’re going to want to threaten to kill me because somebody you love got a little too into Our World and ended up dead for it.” It took more energy than she would like to admit to even say that much, and the words were horribly forced.

Unsurprisingly, the other woman didn’t blink at the implied threats. Instead, she tilted her head and frowned, looking thoroughly confused. After a moment, she seemed to realize something and laughed. The noise only drove Rayne’s annoyance higher. “Oh, I didn’t realize that - Well. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to show you. That silver makes you as harmless as the creatures you feed off of.” Reaching behind her neck, Sarah unhooked the lone gold pendant that hung there.

As soon as the glamour started to wear off, Rayne realized the true reason for the silver restraints. The smell of fairy hit her like a ton of bricks, and she lunged forward with a snarl. Unsurprisingly, she didn’t get very far, but her teeth still gnashed like a rabid dog, fangs extended and eyes glowing red. Sarah looked on, completely unimpressed. As the glamour completely diminished, the fae kicked Rayne in the chest, knocking her back in her seat and back into her senses.

“Calm the fuck down, Sparky.” Sarah drawled, tucking the pendant into the pocket of her jeans. The tips of pointed ears now poked out of her hair, and her skin was the color of leaves, with a hint of pumpkin orange now that Fall was approaching. “It’s not like you’ve never seen a Fairy before. Besides, if you be a good little blood sucker and listen to what I have to say, we’ll both win in this situation, alright?”

It took a moment for Rayne to sufficiently calm down, something that was easier once she stopped breathing. It wasn’t required, but it was a habit at this point. She might be able to keep her wits about her, if she didn’t have to smell her. “...What do you want then?”

Sarah shrugged, scratching at her neck with fingers that now had an extra joint. Rayne had a feeling that she was looking at the ceiling as she thought, though it was hard to tell when someone’s eyes were completely blacked out and had no discernable pupil or iris. “I need you to save someone for me. If I go in, it’ll be a death sentence for me and my sister. But I’ll reward you more than the task owes.”

Rayne scowled. She fucking hated fairies. “You’re going to have to go into a bit more detail than that.” She answered after a moment, careful to keep her voice calm and patient.

“My sister. She’s been kidnapped by a group of your kind. As far as I can tell, they’re young. If they hadn’t been in a group, Angie would have managed to escape, but... strength can only get you so far if the numbers are stacked against you.”

“If vampires have her, then she’s already dead. There’s no use in sending me on a wild goose chase.” Before she knew it, Rayne’s head was pushed against the back of the chair, her bottom jaw in an iron grip. In one second, it could be crushed, and the vampire was careful to keep very still.

“My sister. Is. Not. Dead.” Sarah hissed, her pointed teeth bared. “I would have felt it, and if you even suggest that impossibility again, I’ll have your fangs as earrings. You are not the only one I can go to for help, vampire.” After a long and tense pause, she released her grip and backed off. “I can bring you to where she is, and I can give you half of the payment upfront. I’ll give you the other half after my sister is brought back to me alive. You better find a way a way to fucking control yourself if you find her and she’s bleeding. Understand?”

Rayne stayed silent as she thought that proposal over, taking note of everything that could go wrong, if she was even being told the truth. “How do I know you aren’t setting me up for anything? I’m not about to agree to help anyone with a random rescue mission, unless I have proof that this Angie chick has actually been kidnapped.”

“....I don’t have anything like that with me.” Sarah scowled, before stomping out of the room. Unable to turn her head and follow the fairy’s progress, Rayne had to settle for listening to her rummage around in the kitchen. It was a few minutes before she returned and held two empty wine bottles and a funnel up for all to see. “But I can promise you that this payment isn’t one made so the fae can ambush you. Besides, if our goal was to kill you, for whatever reason, it would have been done as soon as I broke into your house. One bottle of my blood as a good faith clause. You’ll get the second after you bring me my sister.”

Rayne’s mouth watered so suddenly that she had to swallow before she could drool on herself. The logical parts of her mind were screaming at her that this was a bad idea that could go horribly wrong, but her supernatural side was quickly clawing its way to the surface and quieting the protests. “Fine. Just tell me where to find her.”

Sarah didn’t answer, only setting down one of the bottles on a nearby table before she dug the pendant from her pocket and put it back on. Once the glamour had set in and her scent and appearance was decidedly human once more, a knife was pulled from another pocket as she pulled the cork from the bottle still in her grasp with her teeth. Spitting it next to the second container, Sarah kneeled down to place the uncorked wine bottle on the floor before the funnel was shoved into the opening. “Hopefully you’ll understand why I’m keeping you tied up until this is finished and healed. I’d hate to get you to agree to my terms and then maul me as soon as I let you go.” She sliced the knife over her forearm, and let out a hiss of pain as her brain registered the injured nerve endings.

Rayne tensed in her seat, clamping her mouth shut and becoming so still it was like she was a statue. She forced herself to look at anything but the bleeding woman, and had to constantly remind herself to not inhale. Even if the silver would hold her, it would take too long for her to calm down until she could be released. Time seemed to slow to a crawl, and Sarah finally appeared in her view, completely healed. It couldn’t have been more than ten minutes since she cut herself, but it had seemed like much, much longer.

“The bottle is corked and sealed. It won’t open for anyone else’s touch but my own, and I’ve made sure that nothing will break it.” Sarah told her, kneeling in front of her to untie her feet and hands. “I’ll wait here. The address is 2236 Kembery Drive. Please, remember that you have to bring her back alive, or the deal is off. I won’t open the first bottle for you, or give you anything else. Understood?”

“Yes.” Rayne stayed still even after her feet and hands were untied, and she felt her strength return to her, in part. With her neck still bound, she was still held in place and not yet at her full power. “I’ll have her back by dawn.”

“I pray you do.” Standing behind Rayne now, Sarah hesitated as she untied the last strap. Her worry that Rayne would kill her anyway was obvious... but unwarranted. As soon as the vampire’s movement was fully returned to her, there was a blur and a gust of wind from the sudden movement. Before Sarah realized what had happened, she stood in the room alone, the front door wide open.

“...Fucking vampires. They don’t even know how to shut the fucking door.”
