Caller: Hi, I live in California and I have a daughter who lives in Canada. She is having car problems and can't afford the repairs. I would like to use my Target Visa and send a Giftcard to her. Can I do that?
Jon: Ok, so you want to send a Giftcard to your daughter in Canada?
Caller: Yes.
Jon: I'm sorry but we would not be able to do that. We cannot ship internationally.
Caller: Ok well then just send it to me and then I can send it to her right?
Jon: Well yes, but that leads us to our 2nd problem. We don't have any Targets in Canada so the card would be obsolete.
Caller: But she'd be using it for her car repairs.
Jon: I'm sorry she wouldn't be able to use it for that.
Caller: Why not?
Jon: Because it has to be used at a Target store. We do not have Target stores in Canada.
Caller: Why can't she use it for the repairs?
Jon: Is the repair shop affiliated with Target?
Caller: No.
Jon: Then I'm sorry but she could not use the card there.
Caller: So you're saying that your giftcards can only be redeemed in Target stores?
Jon: Yes, a Target giftcard can only be redeemed in a Target store. Not for auto repairs in a different country.
Caller: Well that is ridiculous! That is so stupid! *curses & hangs up*
