I landed a job as a night auditor at Motel 6 (i know) at Tempe while looking for more permanent employment. Unfortunately this also includes 5 hours of commuting a day, the last bit of which is a 4 mile walk under the Arizona sun from the bus stop to my mother's house. I got a call in the middle of my sleep yesterday about an interview for a leasing consultant position at an apartment complex. Keep in mind that's the type of position I've been trying to get for 2 years. I set up an interview for tomorrow at 11am. So today I get woken up in the middle of my sleep again by an employer about my resume, for a job I'm less keen on and because of timing might actually be filled before I can get an interview. In 3 weeks I have been woken up like this a total of 3 times. 2 of these times have been on consecutive days in a way to perfectly sink my interview tomorrow. Once I'm woken up, there is no going back to sleep for me. Now I'm in a position where I'm going to be forced to go through the interview for a position I've been trying to get for 2 years (this is the first time I've been given an interview in that time) underdressed (there's no way I can get home to change from my night job in time) and looking like I haven't slept in two days. Nobody ever gets a job under those circumstances. Long story short, I've got the interview I've wanted for 2 years and I've already lost the job before even stepping in the door. It just feels like the planets continually align so as to make things as difficult as possible for me. Fuck that shit.
On a lighter note, I like pie.
