Buying a house these days is really fucking tough. The banks aren't giving money away the way they used to. We had to give so much paperwork that I used to joke with my broker and ask if they wanted rights to my firstborn and my blood type. Just be patient (soooo much easier said than done), provide the shit they're asking for and once it's all said and done, you'll have your home and you won't have to answer to anyone again (other than the mortgage holder and the tax man). I promise you, it's worth it.

Having been in our house for a few months now, I can tell you I honestly don't want to be anywhere else. We hardly travel anymore and yeah, part of that is because we're house poor and pretty broke, but the larger reason is we just don't want to be away from OUR place.
