Master List of Pairings

Jun 04, 2008 15:55

Just because I don't have anything to do and I'm waiting for ten billion people to reply to my tag in logging, here's a list of all the pairings I support (cross-overs included) - written in a way such that the Seme is listed first and the Uke is at the bottom XD
in no particular order

Interesting, though I really don't subscribe to seme/uke stuff. I don't see why people can't just switch off, you know? Like Pein/Konan. I figure they'd want to try it lots of different ways.

LOL, I always thought that if Konan was in any other relationship, she'd be wearing the pants. I suppose I'm using the terms in a lax manner (though that's not excusable since I did this when I was thoroughly inebriated with...um, porn). Maybe people can't switch it off because they're simply one-time deals? Take for example, Konan and Hidan. If anything ever happened to them, it would JUST. BE. ONCE. If we're talking about no backstory whatsoever (and even that would be tremendously hard because), then I guess it'd be safe to say that Hidan tops or Konan does unless one of them's kinky enough to flip positions and all that. Thus, the seme/uke labeling.

Ah, I shouldn't be made to reply as soon as I wake up XD

Hmm, I suppose that makes sense. I guess I was thinking more in terms of relationships. I think in most relationships, characters would probably switch off, because LOL, if I were Pein or Konan... I'd definitely want to enjoy my sexy lover from all ends/angles and not just one sexual style.

Don't mind me. I'm just conditioned to reject strict seme/uke stuff. I'm pretty ... uh, equal opportunity, I guess? Like I just figure if you want to be with someone, you want them from all positions, but I guess I can see the one-time thing.

Oh, I agree with what you're saying. Definitely. :3

I developed all notions of the seme/uke stuff after reading copious amounts of NaruSasu fanfiction (which, for the record, I don't really appreciate *feels the fangirls' wrath*) in which Sasuke was always, well, described as the uke.

But then I suppose I didn't entirely look at it in the relationship deal, mmhmm.

Ooh, I see, I see. I used to think of relationships in terms of power dynamics, too, back when I read 'fics of pairings that were more like NaruSasu. And I can still understand the appeal of BDSM or like, stuff apart from real relationships ( ... )

Power struggles. The Naruto fandom is made up of a lot of that. It's sad but oddly appropriate. I mean, take the Akatsuki brats and pair them up (sans Pein and Konan and maybe even Itachi) and they'd start hate!fucking and declaring amongst themselves who the top is or something.

(But. I'm still convinced that an author can make a relationship between them work :| I'm all for those, anything is possible with the right words.)

That's exactly why I don't ship NaruSasu. It doesn't appeal to me, I've stopped reading about it. I know there's the friendship thing and that's really something you can build your relationship on. But then they'd be two alpha males stuck in a house. Aah, I've got many reasons why I'm not into NaruSasu ._. *brick'd*

...Write the fic, yes? 8D

Yeah, they're a bunch of man-children that way. Pein and Konan are mature (well, in a sense) and understand that there are more important things to worry about in life. Pein and Konan are probably mostly focused on trying to comfort one another, in a way.

I agree, but for something like Sasori/Deidara, I think it'd be more effective to focus on the non-sexual side of the relationship to make the relationship work. Genshipping does the trick, imho. That's my tactic, anyway. That removes the whole question of sexual power dynamics to begin with.

I genship the Akatsuki, for the most part, unless I suddenly had the urge to pair Konan with one of them and underwent the whole ordeal of thinking of a plausible scenario and brainfucking myself over it. (...And why is it that all scenarios include a dead Pein, Pein gone or Pein, well, not really existent as a human being? ._.)

I don't ship the Akatsuki partners as couples *more food for fangirls' wrath* There's a lot to it that I'm...not exactly touchy about, but I have several qualms >>;

Really, I mean, a person could write Sasuke getting over his shit and Naruto and Sasuke having a positive, egalitarian relationship as well, but I think that's not what most fans of that pairing want to see. It's more of a cycle, I guess. People like Naruto and Sasuke beating each other up because it's hot, writers write it because they want readers... y'know, feeding the masses? Not that I'm saying it's how it ( ... )

I think I understand your meaning on that one. I have the same qualms.

Because Pein/Konan is so... THERE that for Konan to be with anyone else, one must sorta get rid of Pein? XD Tragic truth.
