I think that even if I had a job working from home as an author or an editor or something, I would still want a day job that I could go to every morning. Even a little part-time job to buy my goofing off money. I just like having a reason to get up in the morning ^_^;;

What a cute little car, though! I used to think PT Cruiser were ugly but now I've long since changed my mind. Enjoy your new job, and congratulations!! ^______^

I haven't minded working at home for this long without having something else. I do try to get out when I can... which admittedly isn't much lol.

And thanks! I used to think they were weird too, but my dad had one on lease for a while and I got used to it.

Congrats on the car. My husband works at GameStop, but he's quitting at the end of the year. He's an assistant manager.

If you work there long enough, you might be able to snag yourself some cool AAI swag (or display items).

Thank you!

And yeah, that's what I'm hoping ;)

*delurks a little* That is SO CUTE. Congrats!

Also, I dunno why other folks had a bad experience, but I loved working at Gamestop. We were always busy and it was fun getting to talk about something I loved and help people find the right game for them.

Thanks!

I wonder if maybe the complaints I've heard are just about working retail in general, or else having jerk coworkers, because I've had a good time of it so far. Except for one irate customer not satisfied with the trade-in value of his games! Not my fault your old games are only worth $1.50 meanie >:I

That happens all the time. It doesn't go away. It's much worse with sports titles because they make those all the time (Madden, NBA 2K?, etc.)

Yeah we have a whole bin of 99 cent Madden games, lol. What makes people think they're gonna get full price back on a game from 05 is beyond me.

Congrats on the job and the car~! And you even have a garage to park it in! My garage is... well... let's not go there.

Gamestop is my new friend. My local GameCrazy clerks were getting too pushy my last few times, and their membership program had gone to the dogs. They force a magazine subscription on you with the discounts, but they stopped doing NP, and the magazine I picked in lieu of that went out of print... and they started sending me Maxim to finish out my subscription. >___<

Thanks!

Technically we force magazines on our members too, but at least Game Informer isn't out of print! This month's issue is actually pretty cool with its retro covers. /sales pitch

Congratulations on the car! Those PT Cruisers are so cute. Ooh, you got the hookup with the discounts at Gamestop then. LOL

I've known a few people that work at Gamestop so I hope that your good experiences continue. I think if you're with a good group of people that makes all the difference in the world.

Good luck with all your writing endeavors!

I will admit the discounts crossed my mind when I applied >.>

And yeah, I can see how working there would be a drag if you got the wrong mix of people (especially since our store is so small--it's not like you can run to the PSP section and ignore someone lol). But my coworkers have been super cool so far~

Thanks for the well wishes :D
