Fuck me. Holy shit, that was- I mean, I always wanted to like the non-super humans best but Clint was so sadly underutilised in the movie that I thought it impossible anyone would ever realise his potential and then you come along with this and make everything so fucking right in its wrong that I hardly know what to say. In fact, this was so good, so emotionally raw, I couldn't read it all at once. I kept getting through a couple of lines and then hitting this little pocket of panic and clicking off to some other browser tab just to collect myself so I could come back and get through another couple of lines. And in case there's doubt, that I found it hard to read and still kept coming back is a GOOD thing.

Not sure what else to say except that this is a perfect example of the reason why fanfiction exists - because you just made real and right something that was in canon unsatisfying and superficial. My god. Good job doesn't even begin to cover it.

I do feel bad that Clint didn't get to show more of his own personality in the movie, though I did come away impressed by his ability. I'm really hoping that the Black Widow movie does turn out to be a prequel, and we get to see how she and Clint met (maybe even the myseterious ~Budapest~).
