This sums up my political views quite well, and the views of most Libertarians and freedom-loving Americans who remember the "We the people" part of our founding...
Oh, I know. I don't mean people who are normally politically active, because those people do their shit no matter what; they're truer patriots in my eyes than people that only start to chant and wave when someone tells them they should.
I mean you didn't see shit like this and campaigns like this under Bush. Most of the people who felt this way about taxes and whatnot in the Bush administration and tried to do something went the route of normalcy and didn't sell snake oil to people to get them pissed off.
That's mostly what I oppose; it hurts my head (and my heart, to some degree) to see people that would honestly benefit under some of the proposed programs protesting against them because they were told to by a talk-show host or person doing something fancy to get them mad, while at the same time they complain about needing those programs without realizing what they're doing.
It'd be different if they were protesting the way the programs were going to be implemented and not just the program themselves, but at these same rallies I see signs among the others about Obama being a muslim or not being a US citizen or just plain usage of the word 'nigger.' 'We, the people' should not and just plain CAN NOT be politically active AND politically ignorant, for the sake of our country.
