The corona of the delta...

I drove back down to my Grandmother's from home. The drive takes me through some of the most impoverished places in Arkansas. It isn't the delta exactly but close by, instead of farming cotton it is pine trees. The many small tows that once upon a time were rich as any west of the Mississippi. They were rich in oil and now the oil, for the most part, ran out and now all that is left is poverty and rotting buildings. I took a few pictures but the hundreds of abandon buildings tempt me to waste days exploring. I had to get back and help take care of my relative.

Later I want to post about the clues that our past leaves behind. How to spot housing sites when the house is long gone and they weren't wealthy enough to afford concrete steps. Also, how to spot wagon roads in the forest. Both hopefully with visual aids.
