HOW IT ALL BEGAN
How did you find out about PoT?
Right after hikaru no go ended, my friend thought that we ought to have a sports series to replace it. so we watched two episodes and thought it was rightly ridiculous (and ryoma's eyes were too huge). Then I heard about it at conventions and around online (and promptly hated it and all the BL I saw). A few of my friends liked it, but I was determined to completely ignore it.
When was that?
Spring 2003. Though I didn't get into it until around fall 2005.
What was first for you: the anime or the manga?
Musicals, actually. But anime after that.
Did you begin reading/watching it from the beginning?
Yup, if you count the first musical starting from the beginning.
If not, then at which point of the story?

What was your first impression?
I thought it was pointless and vapid with too many male characters.

Yup, because I'm old fashioned that way.
Do you own original PoT manga books?
I own 1-5 in english because they were gifts from someone who can stand the viz translation less than me. I have volume 25 (data pair!), 25 (atobe buzzcut cover and tachibana v chitose), and 41 (the one where inui faceplants) in japanese, as well as 10.5, 20.5, 30.5 and 40.5. The better part of me says I should just buy all of them to support.. but the art just isn't spectacular enough and the english is just horrible.

I have a giant Tezuka plush, and smaller Inui and Kaidoh plushes... unofficial Seigaku and Rikkai jerseys. A cellphone charm from cinepuri. Those little bobblehead figures (tezuka, ryoma, kirihara and atobe). The 2008 calendar. And doujinshi, if that counts.
Do you buy it regularly?
If I see something I like at a con, I'll buy it, that's pretty much it. I might buy next years calendar, but One Piece is looking pretty appealing..
