I've stumbled upon
this essay called Moral Objectivism. What a load of crap! I would ignore it if I did not know beforehand that this is a very influential and highly regarded philosophical work. The author, apparently, still stands by his expressed views and turned them into a book. The guys is a professor in Colorado.
I have to fight the urge to sit and start refuting the arguments expressed in the essay. That would take forever because I honestly do not remember a single statement from the essay that was not patently and demonstrably false. The guy professes "happiness is good" as an objective(!) obvious truth for god's sake! If someone wants to play Devil's advocate and dares to find a correct statement candidate in the text of the essay, please do post it in the comments.
No wonder that the world is such a mess...
