rock am ring..
Wow..so much to write about..let's see how long this takes!
So, we left on a Thursday night..the plan was around 8 or 9, but it was closer to 10..we had SO much stuff...kasey and joe were had crap piled on top of them for the ride down! We ended up going with our friend Chris and his friend Korina, which was really, really cool! We had to load up some of our stuff in her jeep and then we headed down there...
We got there around 11 or so, I think and set up in the first camp site that we saw...we were about a 20 minute walk from the park...we unloaded as much as we could the first night..mainly the tents and food...Sebastian went to bed first and we all sat around and drank and talked...it was so crazy..there were SOO many people there with loud stereos and generators, but we managed to fall asleep..
Friday morning, we woke up and started grilling..and drinking...i have never just woke up and started drinking, but there's a first for everything i guess..hahah..we ended up meeting some german kids from our camp site and drank with them...*pics to come*...and can't forget about the dutch guy Peter..he was so cool...he was very excited because he won an internet contest and was going to meet Metallica the next day:D
so, we gaggled our drunk selves from the camp site to the actual park..took us about 45 minutes...and went to see the last song of the Dresden Dolls..I really wanted to see them, but only caught the tale end:( We saw Alice in Chains next and just let me say, wow..I couldn't believe how good "that" guy sounded..hahaa..I don't know what his name is, but he did a GREAT job!! James Hatfield from Metallica came out and and sang "Would" with them..it was awesome! Next was a Japanese band called Dir En Grey and they were fucking weird..I didn't' actually see them, but heard them as were sitting down to rest..from what I heard though, the lead singer was on stage cutting himself and banging his mic into his forehead..lol...I heard they were there last year and they were just like that...the Deftones came next and did a great set..I'm a fan, but not a big fan...they stopped the set after about 3 songs and yelled at the audience for not picking up people from the floor...he was like "You don't fucking do that, just pick 'em up!!!" I thought it was great:) I hate those fucking assholes who do that!! Korn came next and it was my 2nd time seeing them...Jonathan Davis gained a shit load of weight--in my opinion, but did a great set...he played like a medley from their first album..it was only snipits, but was awesome!! and last of the evening..TOOL...OMFG..they were the best show of the entire festival...first of all, maynard came out and was like, "Hi, Germans."...HAHAHA...I don't know, it was just funny to me...he also said "Jesus Fucking Christ, it's cold"..he came out wearing only a cowboy hat and a pair of jeans! probably shoes too, but couldn't see them..he was telling the guys that if they were cold, they could do a "reach around" with the guy in front of them or their buddies..HAHAHA....we didn't have a great location, but Joe was nice enough to lift me up during the pot and some dutch guy for aenema..which, they closed with..it was fucking awesome...god damn, it was so good...i wish i could find a set list..That was the end of the first night..guns and roses were scheduled to play at 2am, but wasn't worth it to me..hahaha
Saturday..well, I didn't see any bands saturday..hahaha..ended up doing the drinking thing and passed out all day:x...I only wanted to see Metallica and Bloodhound Gang anyway...I heard that the bloodhound gang sucked ass though..bad vocals and one of the dudes starting pissing on people...lmao..no thanks! Metallica played the entire master of puppets album..i couldn't believe that..i dont know which album id like to see tori play...but, to fans, that must have been great!
Sunday was the day i was longing for..i didn't think anything could top Tool...well, and i was right..but keep reading..lol..
We got there and she wants revenge was finishing up...i didn't really hear much of them..next was the Kaiser Chiefs..and wow, they were great! SO much energy..we were about 5 rows back for them..i heard of them before rock am ring, but never heard their music...Sportfreunde Stiller was next and Sebastian wanted to see them because he likes them..we got of of the audience though because it was getting a little rowdy..German guys..pretty decent..Franz Ferdinand was next and I do like them...good as well..nothing crazy i guess...thennnnnnnn..Placebo...Brian came out on stage and looked SO good..hahahah...they did a great set, but I didn't hear any of the songs that I wanted to, but I guess that's the way it always goes! They played for about an hour and 10 minutes or so...THENNNNNNNNNN

:((((((((((((((((((((( I was so fucking upset because there was NO possible way for me to get up front so we parked it right by one of the screens that actually show the concert...well, during the entire concert, they showed all these distorted pictures and glimpses of the actual concert...i mean, i twas more like looking at a rock video:(((( They played quite a few things from the new album, which still hasn't FULLY grown on me and GREAT oldies..they opened with their latest single and closed with their first recorded song, Photographic..Martin sang a few songs, but of course, not the ones I wanted to hear! Their second song was Question of Time...can't find the set list yet, but it was good:D Overall, pleased with the sound of them live, but don't know much about presence...i guess ill just keep dreaming:(
Overall, it was a great weekend:) I can not possibly tell you how many uncircumcised penises I saw though or how many people puking, but it was great and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat! Can't wait til next year!!

On personal notes..had to work today..didn't get home to 3am and to bed til almost 4...had to be at work by 3, but was still groggy and tired when i woke up..starting to train for my new job tomorrow..woohoo! :D
