Yeah, I had wanted to see Spoon for so long and I wasn't that impressed. That could be because I just came from the yyy set which was amazing, but I think Britt Daniels (if that's even his name) is a snob. He was like "This song is off of MY new album, gagagaga". I know that shouldn't be a big deal but he said "my new album" like he was the only one that played music on it or sang. There are other members in Spoon and he should have said "our new album". haha. I guess I'm being a little picky, but whatever!
It's easy to volunteer, if they pick you. You just fill out a form like around Spring-ish they post the form and then if they like what you say (just say how much you love music and chicago and helping, blah blah blah) they'll pick you and you can pick your shift and work as much or as little as you want.
It's OK to volunteer. I was a greeter so I just passed out those itunes cards for four hours every day and that got so old and by the third day everybody had them already and I didn't want to annoy people. I think the shifts are too long (10-2) and they work you the whole time without saying thanks so it got pretty annoying. I would suggest maybe volunteering like one day where there is only a few acts you want to see to save some money, but I wouldn't do it the whole three days because I missed so many bands like Fratellis and tokyo police club. :(
This is like a novel, haha. Who'd you go to lolla with?
