I hate occipital neuralgia.
Today I started to cancel my doctor's appointment and my hubbyu said no.
Why? Because although I felt ok when I woke up he knew the drill. 20 minutes upright and I would be sick as a dog from my headache which I had been having for 4+ days.
True to form 45 minutes later I was hurling my water in the trash can at the docs. I was courtious and made it to the trash can.
Doc came in and ask (since I was lying down) if what he was seeing was a bad thing. Haha he's a funny one.
Anyway I received two shots (one on each side of my neck into the occipital muscle and nerve) Doc asked if I could handle 40 seconds per side of intense pain. I told him I survived near death I could handle two little sticks.
Man was I almost wrong. Right side was intense for 40 seconds VERY intense. Left side, which is the side I have the most trouble with was "worse" and I do mean worse. He asked me if where he was touching was "it" and I made him move his finger over. Eeeekkkk.
If I could have safely kicked or punched anyone at that moment I would have. He hit the "sweet spot" and I thought I was going to pass out. As soon as he was done and started to massage it in I felt instantaous relief.
The one side effect he said was destine to happen would be the feeling of being kicked in the back of the head by a horse or mule. No kidding.
Not as intense atm but feels "better" than the headache from before the injections
I get these every two weeks. Woohoo! Better than surgery I suppose as long as it continues to work.
We shall see.
