It's almost unbelievable to me that my country has elected George W Bush for office again. I had no idea that there are so many blind republicans and uninformed people here. At least he didn't take Michigan. Well, of course he wasn't going to take Michigan, thanks to the union. I'm trying to find some sort of benefit from this, but I can't.

I did notice something that stikes me as odd. Maybe some of you can tell me your opinions on this. Out of curiosity I searched online for the richest states in the U.S. The top ten order goes as follows: 1) District of Columbia. 2) Connecticut. 3) New Jersey. 4) New York. 5) Massachusetts. 6) Maryland. 7) Hawaii. 8) Nevada. 9) Alaska. 10) Illinois. We obviously cannot include the District of Columbia in this so ignore that state. Why is it that the majority of these states vote for the democrat? As I go down the list I ask myself why these states are the richest states in the U.S. I would guess that Hawaii and Nevada make a large sum of money from tourists, but I dont know and my guess is probably wrong. Well, how about education? I think there are some good colleges in those states right? When I did a search on Ivy Leauge and major colleges, I was suprised to find my results. A large majority of those colleges are located in those states or states that voted for Kerry. Here are a few of them in those states.
Amherst - Amherst, Massachusetts
Barnand - New York City, New York
Boston University - Boston, Massachusetts
Bradeis - Waltham, Massachusetts
Colgate - Hamilton, New York
Columbia - New York City, New York
Connecticut College - New London, Connecticut
Cornell - Ithica, New York
Princeton - Princeton, New Jersey
MIT - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Harvard - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Yale - New Haven, Connecticut
Now I'm a little confused. Dont rich people benefit most from republicans? Doesn't every republican strive to keep these people richer? It's common knowledge that if you're going to one of these colleges you most likely come from a wealthy family and you most likely will end up doing better then most in life. Maybe it has something to do with the education that these people are receiving. Maybe some of them know that they will not prosper if the country does not.
I found an intersting article here . The article is titled Please tax us, say (some) of America's richest
A group of some of the richest people in the United States are trying to persuade politicians to continue to tax the inherited fortunes of the wealthy, as the Bush administration acts to end inheritance tax.
I guess these are just some things to think about. I'm sure there are major studies on these things, but I like to draw my own conclusions.

I wish I could have voted for Nader, but everybody knows that an independent vote normally takes away from the democrats. And with my belief that Bush needs to be out of office, I couldn't do that. It's so sad that I made that choice though. I feel used. All of this is bullshit. Why do we have these two major parties? To quote Southpark "Why should I have to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich?" Why is it that I have to turn on HBO to hear opinions on Ralph Nader? Why can't I hear about him on the news along with Kerry and Bush? Why do I have to choose between more taxes for the middleclass or cheap watered down healthcare? Why do I have to choose between the president making more poor decisions in Irag or switching strategies and leaders in the middle of a war. Why is it that the majority of the media has a biased opinion? Why is it that in an economy that thrives on science our major canidates have to be very careful on saying what we can study? Why is our country still being controlled by the bible? Why is it that people in this country are willing to run it to the ground because of the bible? Your beliefs are your beliefs. It's okay to believe in something. It's okay to have a religion. But as soon as your religion tells you to vote against the prosperity of our country because it holds no place for embryonic stem cell research or gay rights, it's not okay. You're stepping on a lot of peoples toes, including mine. I've talked to quite a few people that said they will vote for Bush because of their religious beliefs surrounding these issues. It's hard for me to accept that, but I can do my best to be empathetic towards them. I understand that somebody can believe in some things very strongly. But for taking your eye off of the main issues because your religion allows people to go to war and die for corporations hiding under 9/11 rather than killing fetuses and fucking other men in the ass I have one thing to say to you and that is fuck you.
