Hrm...

112,000 are dead as a result of that earthquake/tsunami thing. My two cents:

1. First off, I know most of my friends are unaffected by this, and thus don't care, but think of how big a number that is- it's most of the population of Concord, more than 10 times the death toll of Americans in the war that is currently happening... it's a lot of people. Goddamn.

2. I know it's tragic, but it is events like this that make the earth the habitable and (naturally) pleasant environment it is today. Can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs (I know I'm going to hell).

3. These people didn't deserve to be ass-pillaged by nature NEARLY as much as we over here in more affluent parts of the world deserve to be. The real tragedy here is that we have the economy required to build buildings and structures that can withstand much of the force created by earthquakes (well... maybe) and tsunamis, so would not be nearly as affected by it.

4. In that movie, "The Day After Tomorrow", we sure got ours, though. Sad that it would take events like what was in that movie to get us to start being nice to each other and everyone else.

5. But the coup de grace, the end-all, worst part of it is: Now the American media is gonna start trying to bombard us with unwarranted "tsunami-watches" and "possible earthquake danger" reports. People are gonna freak out all over again. Mother Nature couldn't have picked a worse time to do this.

As a bonus, some dicksnack witness interviewed in the newspaper (American, of course) said that he "thought it was a terrorist attack". Narf.
