In the spirit of done, after a week of Halloweenish debacle and toxcitiy, I re-pledged myself to finishing my fighting dublet. For some time now, I have been making use of the loaner amor and gear from my local fighting group. But with the recent influx of new fencers, finishing the construction of mine own armor become priority. After several nights of sewing and a great deal of help from akra_brigid and wynkyn (many blessings upon their house and patience), my dublet is finished. Yee doubting gods be denied! I will try to put up a photo here soon.
And just in time for Inferno, our local shire's fall event. 9 circles of hell to fight in, 9 course to serve in for the feast. A bit sore today from fighting and serving but no complaints from me. T'was a lovely time. In particular, the snake fighting was lovely (the circle of hell where the fighters were subjected to random wound requirements and fighting forms by dice roll. d1sc0rd1@n fun for all)
It was also my extreme honor to be accepted into the Wenesday Company, the elite fighting unit of our shire. My thanks to doctorcurly, akra_brigid, wynkyn and all the other members of Wenesday company who's LJ names I might not have (namely George and Lothair). My special thanks to lapis_lorelei who was my sponsor into the company and who's half cloak I currently wear. While on watch and not yet a full member, I strive to live up to the high standards my comrades have set for me in both fighting prowess, curtesy and service.
