I had my first cooking adventure in Northshield last weekend. It was an amazing time. I had 3 other people help me in the kitchen and they did a fabulous job. There were a few others that came and went as well.
I have been having internal issues with feast since I've been here. One is the price, they are way too expensive and two they are really under attended. Unfortunately, my feast didn't help with either of those, I thought 12.00 was way too much for people to pay for feast, I only spent slightly over 8.00 for feast. They also do things differently here. since I had 10.00 for feast and 2 for lunch, but all those that stayed for feast paid for the lunch of everyone. Not the way I would do things.
Anyways, I decided to cook my favorite things from previous feasts and put them all together in one meal.
Here was the menu: Herb cheeses, Bread, Olive Relish, Roast Chicken stuffed with Currants and apples, Armoured Turnip, Lentils and Herbs, Ember Day Tarts, Roasted Squash Soup, Roast Beef with Honey, Roasted Garlic Risotto, Leeks and Bacon, Honey Roasted Root Vegetables, Honey Fried Dates, Pear Custard tarts and Almond Macaroons.
There was more than enough food, but not too much extra was purchased. I went a little over on the Turnip and the bread but that's it.
There was one amazing sight to see though...I had ask Lady Svana to see if she could find me a couple of gentles to clean the bit of dishes from lunch so that we could get a good start on dinner. Well, she came back with more than a couple of gentles. She had it announced that I needed a few dishes done and well, a few minutes later I think there were 5 or 6 fighters in the dish room doing dishes. I was later told that when this announcement was made, His Grace Tarrach and Count Tom were on the field in the middle of a bout, when they heard that the kitchen needed help, they stopped fighting, took off their helmets and proceeded to the kitchen with 4 or so other fighters following them. I was in awe and I thank you all so very much, unfortunately I'm not sure who were all the fighters that showed up, but I thank you all. It was an amazing sight to see.
I'm really looking forward to doing it again sometime soon.
