I caught a cold at Rhythm and Bruise, the first weekend in November. It knocked me on my Ass Monday and Tuesday, I felt pretty good on Wednesday morning, so I got up and went to spin class at 6am. Was that the wrong thing to do. I was back on my Ass again. Thursday was horrid, I didn't even want to get out of bed but I worked and then went to Band Practice. Friday I went to the Remembrance Day service, which went really well, I couldn't play my pipes because of my cold, but I had to be there. I was very honored to wear my Grandfather's cap badge on my Glen. I was feeling guilty for being sick and not being able to play, I at least had to be there. I dressed up fairly warm under my band sweater, but didn't wear anything extra under the kilt like others did.
After work on Friday, Dave, Leona and I drove to Bemidji, where I dropped Dave and Leona off and I continued to Fargo. It was a good drive, it's been a while since I drove anywhere by myself and I missed it. We all went to Sun (Like EKU) and it was a great event. I even attend 2 classes, yup, that's what I said. This now makes a total of 4 classes since I've been here, which definitely beats the record of 1 class that I ever took in the East. It's not really that I like them now, it's just that I think I should go to some and eventually will find a topic that I'm interested enough in teaching myself.
So Monday started back at the gym, so up and at the gym for spin class at 6am. It went quite well, I was going to go to Zumba that night but I was a little tired from lack of sleep on the weekend, Tiffany and I tend to stay up late. Tuesday after work I headed to another spin class and then again this morning. I was watching TV during my lunch, when it was over I went to get up off the sofa and I had stiffened up and my whole body hurt. That didn't stop me though, I went and got some groceries, then headed to the gym for Zumba. Now I'm officially dead. My Ass, legs, feet, everywhere hurts. All a good hurt, except for my Ass, which I'm told that it takes 3 weeks for it to go away, well, this is my 3rd week, this should mean that on Monday morning when I go to spin class again, it won't hurt...I'm not holding my breath.
I've been reconnecting with a guy from High School. We haven't seen each other really since he graduated. It's been nice chatting with him. He lives in Toronto, he's going to try and meet me at the airport when I fly home, I have a 2 hour layover. It'll be nice to see him again. If things go well, I might visit him in Toronto in the New Year.
I just finished practicing my chanter. Bruce (pipe major) has been telling everyone at Band that tomorrow night I'm going to show up knowing 3 of their competition tunes from their medley. I can play the first 3 but not at the speed they play them, it's a hornpipe and 2 jigs. Tough time signatures to start out on.
Well, time for bed, that is if I can get up from this chair. I'm good once I'm sitting or standing, but moving from one position to the other hurts. They say this will get better, but I'm not believing anyone right now.
