BotB 2009 was a blast
This was a great year. got to see a lot of old friends, meet a few new ones etc. Again I want to give huge thank you's to Devillbunny, Rich, Skot, Henri, The Angles, and everyone else that put in extra time to make this happen.
The fire walk was a bummer, first in that it was a failure, we built it too deep. The first two steps were intense but manageable then on the third step I felt the coals give and my left foot sunk into the center of the coals. While the calloused part of my foot is fine my arch is one big blister. I knew there would be a chance of this and it's why I went first I wasn't going to put anyone else in danger unless I could pull it off, we were well prepared with first aid and I'm hobbling around fine. A few days and I should be in pretty good shape. The second disappointment is that I don't think anyone got video of it and so far I've only found one fuzzy picture of me right as I got off the coals. So if anybody got any pictures or video pleas let me know. I still stand by the fact the act is balls and science not metaphysics as some believe. Just with all the research over the years the one question left unanswered was how deep it should be. We learned the hard way.
The tradition is back and we'll be at it again next year, not sure if we'll do the fire walk again but you can bet if not we'll have another big stunt planned.
