To start off, i really doubt this trip will live up to it given name as mentioned in the title.
The journey started off at 7:30am on the 5th of June around the intersection of 88th street and 117th avenue in Miami, FL. We (my grandparents on my dad's side and I) drove to tallahasse. Interesting trip. My grandparents really are so great, i learn things from them and can't wait to tell stories about them to my grandchildren... however wow can they sometimes be annoying. I was dropped off at my dorm for 2 days in Salley Hall at around 5:15pm. I met my room mate, her name was Jessica and she was really nice possibly too nice and then I took a shower and then it was time for some "ice breaker" activiities. Shortly after the ice breakers and everyone seeming foolish we were all just standing around talking and I look up and who do I see?!?! Andy! and then I glance a little more to the left and sure enough there is Alex too! I was very surprised and very happy to see them. They could only stay for a few minutes but it was still a great surprise. The group of people staying in the dorms then when to bowl and b/c i didn't bring any socks i just talked to some people and a couple of the orientation leaders, specificallly Melissa, who was very nice.
The next morning I over slept a tad but still managed to get to the first orientation session on time. Overall the day was good. Some sessions were more entertaining than others. When we could I stayed with Andy and we got to see Alex a couple of times, like when we skipped one of our sessions. Not a good way to start off college, huh? lol I met alot of new people though. The last session of the day was this speaker named Curtis Zimmerman, it was very funny and entertaining. He tried to teach us how to juggle but i guess i'm just a failure. After that although they had a few activities planned for those who wanted them i basically went back the the dorm, showered, talked on the phone to different people for a long time and then went to sleep. I had a small headache.
The following morning we got up bright and early and when to breakfast and then we were disbursed by majors for academic advisement. We were then told which classes were best for us. After that I had about an hour of free time so me and this other girl who is majoring in education walked up to the office of housing to get our dorm info. Then we were taught how to pick our classes and then it was time to register. All went smoothly. We then had our "seminole send-off". I then spent said good-bye to andy and went in search of my dorm. It took me forever to find and when I got there it was closed. I then walked back to the dorm where my grandparents were waiting for me. On the way I was able to see Alex and say good-bye. We then got on the road drove for a long time and ended up staying the night in Chatanooga (i must be spelling that wrong), Tennessee. I had never never been to Tennessee before.
Continuing northward we started driving early. I slept for awhile in the car in the morning but then I drove most of the way. We got to Ohio about 8 and that was really about it. I learned more things along the way and the trip was a good time to talk to my grandparents about things that would have never otherwise come up. I must say my favorite part was when my grandmother leaned in real close to me and said "Are you regretting not coming to college in Ohio?" hahaha i just found that hilarious and i simply said "I'm happy with my choice"lol i just loved it although I may be the only one.
Thursday I spent the day in Ohio. Rather boring I must say although I was able to see my cousin Bo, who i haven't seen for longer than 5 minutes at once in years. I feel old, he just graduated from college and had come from a job interview and was wearing a suit and stuff. I remember being young and looking up to him so much. Wow how time flies. We also got my car looked at so i'm good to go for tomorrow.
I guess that is about it, I will update when I can.
I MISS YOU ALL SOOO MUCH AND I REALLY MEAN THAT, I'M NOT JUST SAYING THAT! I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THIS BUT I MISS MIAMI, BUT NOT REALLY MIAMI ITS THE PEOPLE IN MIAMI THAT I MISS! What am i going to do when i have to leave some people for college?!?!
It pretty late and I drive by myself tomorrow.
