It's a new town again.
A new scent.
A new sound.
A new beginning.
This time he hopes it might feel right.
He slings the duffel bag over his shoulder, and adjusts the sunglasess.
the sun's too bright.
He starts walking. Ignoring the stares the locals give him is more than a second nature now. Unfazed. There used to be a time when anything got under his skin.
The city isn't really a city.
It's a small town sprinkled in with little boutiques, shops that catch the eye, local businesses that will surely be looking for someone to hire and people a little bit more distracted about the festivities than the newcomers breaching its walls.
It's a place where he can rest his bones in, even if it's just for a little while.
He finds a little abandoned spot, perfect for what he intends to shape it for. So much potential, he thinks, taking in the dark space. Darkness was always something he could embrace.
