No, I'm not talking about the Newsweek cover or Google or any of that. I'm talking about how my two favorite English-language China-related blogs, ESWN and Beijing or Bust, have both run into problems recently. The ESWN guy took a job in NY and says he won't be translating long essays anymore.
More horribly, and more to the point, the Beijing of Bust guy seems to have
disappeared (read the comments).
I'm not suggesting he was abducted by the CCP's jackbooted thugs or anything, but it's weird when someone whose blog you read suddenly vanishes. Didn't Michelle have sort of a crisis a while back when her favorite lawyer-blogger turned out to have drunken himself to death? Anyway, go
read the blog if you have nothing better to do. It's really well written and personal.
No time for a long introspection on that right now. My internet is working again (it hasn't been, which is why no updating), but I'm super busy this week. Hopefully things will calm down a bit by Friday.
