On winter driving and other current events...

Yesterday sucked, writ large.

Got up at 7:30 to haul tail out to another store to cover for a short staff, on my day off.  Worked there from 9:00am 'til 8:00 pm, and then had an astounding five-hour drive home.  And it's only thirty miles.  See, ice had SHUT DOWN the major highway in between the two points.  I spent, literally, an hour and a half with the truck turned off and the parking lights on, sitting on a bridge.  It was ... annoying.   I was fortunate enough to have a bottle of water and some leftover soup from lunch to keep busy with, or it would have been even more annoying.

So today, I'm here from 8:30 'til 7.  And it's busy as hell.  Customers, ugh.  Puling spawn, how I despise them all.

At least tomorrow I have off, unless you count endless running to and fro to meet and greet with relatives, new and old.  Humbug.

In other news, the wedding planning is coming along nicely, but I do need to figure out tux arrangements before much more time goes by.  As for the other more or less major event in the near future, Lindsay has an appointment on the 30th with the doc, and oddly enough, I'm not freaking out in the least.  Not this time, or at least not yet.  (chuckle)   I'm quite excited about the whole thing, in fact.  Couldn't be more pleased.

Ah well, my break is almost over.  No actual lunch hour today, just enough time to scarf a sandwich from next door and get back to the fuckery.
