I nearly got eaten by rabid chipmunks

Kind of like Kenny in South Park. Northern California can be a dangerous place, dangerous in a different way than Southern California is. Southern Californians try to argue that they're civilized, but please! The City of Angels, civilized? You can't even get good food delivered here. The entire smog-filled basin is more bloodthirsty than any jungle or desert. Go east and you're plagued with Palm Springers. Just a little north up the coast and it's the Santa Barbarians. However, SoCal is where the work is. Except when it's in NoCal. Or elsewhere. This is why I have a big house behind a bigger wall that takes a tunnel to get to. My own little world, and thanks to the internet, I have to go out even less often than I did a decade ago.

Summer makes me logy and sluggish. I don't like the thick pea soup of greasy heat. Much better to stay in my climate-controlled abode. There's too much light in the summer, too many bugs, too much noise, too many smells. I hate the smells of lighter fluid and gas grills and charcoal barbecues and meat cooking.

You see? This is why I haven't updated. I'm too grouchy for it. This entry will probably self-destruct within 24 hours.
