It’s called Night Hag Syndrome.
While you sleep, your body paralyzes itself so you don’t thrash during dreaming. But sometimes, you wake up and the body doesn’t unparalyze. This is naturally quite frightening, so your (recently dreaming) brain helpfully tries to explain what’s happening.
It does this by hallucinating a humanoid monster squatting on your chest.
However, what’s happening here is not Night Hag Syndrome. I actually am squatting on your chest right now, paralyzing you. But the good news is, I’m no incubus. I’m your future self.
So pay VERY close attention to the next thing I tell you.
