Hetalia: Morocco!

(I was told to draw Morocco, so I kind of did, but not really. He's totally pose-jacked from another headshot I drew way earlier in the year and stolen from another design I had lounging around. I changed the scarf and BANG, done. YESSS, LAZINESS WINS AGAIN! \o/)
Country Name: The Kingdom of Morocco/al-Mamlaka al-Maġribiyya (The Western Kingdom)
Human Name: Saïd al-Matghari
Age:20(ish) / Height:176cm / BD:August, 20 / Item:couscous & mint tea
...I read somewhere that blond hair was originally a mutation in Arabic/Berber people. Morocco has both as common ethnicities in their country (usually mixed with some French or Spanish) so... he ended up being a Berber with blond hair. I also figured it would be a good way to add some French influence in his appearance.
Also, he's apparently orange...that's ttly my bad. I shouldn't be allowed to color.
A couple fun facts about Morocco!
-Morocco has the oldest university in the WORLD..
-It it the only country in Africa that is NOT part of the African Union.
-Though Arabic is widely spoken, French is the language most recognized.
-Couscous is the OFFICIAL DISH of Morocco. Wheat and Barley make up most other meals.
-The nation only gained its independence from France somewhat recently: post-WW2 (1956)
-Morocco has enjoyed the longest-running Friendship treaty with America. It's never been broken!
-Date trees are important in the Moroccan culture and in the past, it was unlawful to sell a family date tree.
--but anyways, yeah. I noticed people had made a Morocco OC on dA, so I had to respond with my version. Mostly because the ones I saw on dA were... honestly not obnoxious enough for my liking... I don't see Morocco as a very quiet country. This is like... the same country that still argues over Gibralter with Spain and the same country that absolutely refuses to join the African Union as if it has some hope of joining the EU. COME ON MOROCCO, THEY DIDN'T EVEN WANT TURKEY. STOP BEING SO DELUSIONAL. I seriously always picture Morocco camped outside the EU during meetings, clawing at the windows to get in... and this is since pre-Hetalia.
YEAH, so, Morocco is -probably- pretty liberal thanks to early relations with the good ol' U-S-of-A and fairly westernized and their economy is similar to America--based in supply and demand. However, human rights are still fairly mixed--women were only recently allowed to divorce their husbands without consent. Homosexuality is punishable by jail time, but this law is very rarely enforced. Though the country still has capital punishment, there has only been one execution in recent years.
..I believe the Moroccans also dislike their neighbors - the Algerians... or vice versa. Something like that. I know the border to Algeria is currently "closed". Strangely, they seem to get along with Turkey pretty well. Morocco enjoys a free trade with America and Turkey.
So I'm going to stop rambling... because lord knows, I've probably twisted all this information somehow. :< It's been so long since I actually looked anything up so this is all from memory ,:D
