[Since the last event Raven has spent the entire time locked away in his room sleeping it off. Now however he feels as though that wasn't he wisest thing to do. So he's currently in the Barracks borrowing one of their standard wooden bows and practising hitting the targets. He doesn't seem to be doing very well though, he's broken a few window ( Read more... )

[Wow, haven't seen that ugly mug in a while. How y'doing, Scruffy? Miyabi was actually exploring Luceti when she found this place. She'd been doing the same thing as you were previously - training with her sword. Enough has been happening lately for her to want to practice a little. Though now, she was just content top watch you...fail. Hard.

God, Raven, you suck. It's not until one of those arrows barely misses her - what a waste of a good Powerslash - does she actually voice something.]

The same as you are--[She holds up her little sword, letting the light shine off the blade.]--training. I've been focusing too much on my Celestial Brush Skills for the past few days, so now I want to practice my swordplay a little. I've gotten a little rusty...

But you, I thought you'd be a better fighter, Mister Raven! I could beat you in no time with those poor skills. Though I wasn't aware you used a bow.

Well I haven't used a bow in almost 2 months, ya can't seriously expect me to be at the top of my game. Especially using the wrong kinda bow.

But what do ya mean you didn't expect me to use a bow? What kinda weapon did you think I'd use?

[Ah, she sympathizes a little. And she's not that upset. Miyabi wouldn't know just what to do if she didn't have her sword for two months. Dear gods...she couldn't even fathom the thought.]

Wrong bow? What do you mean? [She's checking out that bow now, giving it a curious look. It was...very basic, to say the least. She then gives him a look, tapping her cheek with one finger.]

Hm, daggers. Or maybe a short sword.

[Ha! She was right. That'll put a triumphant grin on her face for a bit, then she'll tilt her head a little and stare right at him excitedly. She'll even begin to hop a little.]

Uwaah~! I've never met anyone who uses that kind of weapon before!! Usually people in my world just use swords, knives, bows, and spears. [Wait. Something pings in this little child's mind, then she looks at him with wide eyes, stopping her hopping.] Wait, you said that's not your bow, right?

This one? No it's one I borrowed. My bow is... very dear ta me. But it's with a friend so it's fine fer now!

Those weapons sound like the ones back home too, 'cept there's a few guns amongst 'em. But it's not too common.

Well, that's understandable. Sumomo is precious to me as well. I'm glad your bow is safe, though. [She smiles and drums her fingers affectionately on the hilt of her sword] That also may be the problem, too. You're not used to this weapon, because it's not yours. Back home, there's a saying that once you have a sword - er - weapon, it becomes part of you. The heart and voice of the user become one and the two can perform to the best of their abilities.

[And as she speaks, she'll demonstrate, holding out her sword and taking up an offensive stance. She steps, thrusts, swipes, blocks, and moves with careful fluidity. Ah, such grace~ Miyabi's definitely got a decent amount of skill with her blade, it almost looks like a dance.]

When you get your bow back, I'm sure you'll do a lot better. [She blinks.] Ah, those things the nice lady was talking about!! I never got her name, I think... Those little miniature pocket canon things. She was talking about them and said she used one to fight. We don't have any guns back in Nippon, so I don't ( ... )

My Bow wasn't mine ta begin with though. It belonged to an old friend... but anyway it was her family's famed bow. It was just good luck that I managed to get my hands on it I 'spose. When things calm down ya can get I'll be here practisin' with it, I'll show ya what I'm truly capable of for a change! I'm sure I could give yer swordsmanship a run for it's money though. Provided I have the right sword of course, but that's not here in Luceti. I can't believe I actually checked fer it either...

But anyway!

Pocket... cannons? Can't say I've ever heard of somethin' like that. Ya mean like a pistol?

I'd be honored to see you practiced with your wea--[Oh. Fff, did he just--!? The silent that presses down on the two becomes thick and heavy. Miyabi's smile curls dangerously, and there's a definite glint in her eyes as she hoods them. There's a mischievous tone in her voice]

If I had my sword then yeah I guess it would be. But not for a while yet, I'd need to practise when I get my bow back anyway.

[vhvhjxjxsshdhdf--Miyabi's stumbles a little, not expecting that godawful word to slither out of her friend's mouth. Her aura turns from a sunshine yellow to a flaming red as her temper flares. One hand flies to her sword as she unsheathes it and swings the brush tip in one quick swipe.

Whatever was behind the old man, be it a tree, a rock, piece of the barracks, etc. will slide slowly to one side before crashing onto the ground with a very loud THUD!]
