❖ 017 // [Voice]

May 13, 2010 17:00

[There's an old fart standing on the roof of house #12. How he got up there, or rather, when he got up there is a complete mystery he respawned there. In his hands he flips through the pages of the journal, looking for anything remotely interesting that he may have missed. After a while he speaks up.]

It's kinda windy today, don't ya think?

[She's been paying attention to stuff! Assuming I'm not entirely lame and I'm correct in remembering that his death was publicly announced]

Welcome back.

[It totally was so no worries!]

Hm? Ah Buffy darlin', glad ta be back!

Glad to have you back.

[She's sincere--people being dead is something she likes to avoid.]

Do ya really mean that? I can never tell if yer bein' sarcastic or not sometimes.

One hundred percent sincere. You'll learn the difference eventually.

[She tugs the journal closer, trying to avoid the oh-you-just-died-you-sure-you're-okay awkwardness.]

Y'know, I work at Good Spirits now. So if you ever need a nice and lively glass of something? I'm your girl.

[Well that took him by surprise. Last time he was in the bar there wasn't a single hot girl behind the counter. Though, he's not really in the mood to discuss his death.]

Ya shouldn't be givin' me more reasons ta get drunk!

[Indeed, Buffy would rather a playful snarkfest than a discussion on revival.]

What--are you saying that seeing me leads to the need to get inebriated? Gee, and here I was mistaking you for some kind of a nice person.

And there's the token sarcasm I'm so used to. Ya love me baby~

See? I said you'd get the hang of it. How could you have ever doubted me?

Now yer just bein' mean! I'll have to swing by the bar later for a drink.

[He was expecting to be bombarded with "Oh my gosh what happened to you?! How did you die? Where are you?" so he's happy to avoid all those questions right now. And goddammit I need to tag one of your entries sometime xD

[Buffy's been in Raven's funeral-fresh shoes before. Twice. She likes to think she knows what the recently deceased and revived might need in terms of emotional support--oodles and oodles of distracting denial.]

I can make you one of my now village-wide famous fancy drinks!

[Maybe definitely an exaggeration.]

[Think you can whip him up a cocktail of denial? He could do with one of those right now. Though, he has no idea you've died before.]

Oh? A special Buffy-related drink? Do tell me it's got a fancy name~

Well, actually? I named it after the good Doctor. The one that I live with.

[She stifles a laugh.] Treat a girl nicely and you might get your very own namesake, too.

[She tends to get a bit more share-happy with those who have also died and come back--so maybe someday they'll have a mutual discussion of deadness.]

A good Doctor huh? Aww ya got me all jealous, though I can't imagine what would actually be in a Raven cocktail.

[Dying in Luceti was something new to him, nothing like dying back home. Though, he's very unlikely to ever discuss the how he died to anyone outside house 12 >:]

[Both of Buffy's deaths have been back home--not here, in Luceti. One was particularly traumatic...but she has found talking about the implications of having died to be particularly useful with other people with similar situations.]

I'm predicting something in a flamboyant colour. Or maybe something with oodles of flavour.

[I suppose it's inappropriate to say 'Hooray they're in the canon death club' then?]

It's gotta be purple then! With a little umbrella in the top, and no ice.
