[Raven is sitting on the grass in the back yard of House 12, looking at a large patch of fire lilies that have grown. He knew he must've planted them at some point in the past, because they had always reminded him of her. It was still strange to see so many growing in what was otherwise a relatively empty garden.]Ya know, with Jack showin' up again ( Read more... )

It's not a crime to be homesick or sit by yourself speaking to flowers.

It's kind of embarassin' though, seeing as I've got my journal right here.

It's not so much an embarrassment as it is you are sharing your thoughts with others.

Maybe I was half expectin' the flowers to reply back! Haha, that would've been a bit disturbing though.

Well perhaps one day the Malnosso will allow the flowers to speak as they do the animals.

But then when I pick 'em for bouquets, they'll scream in pain as they die...

[ voice ] refinedmaestro July 12 2011, 20:15:35 UTC
Then why pick them? Shouldn't the flowers be allowed to stay where they are?

You're kiddin' right? Ladies love flowers! Turn up with a bouquet and they'll fall head over heels!

[Though he's joking, he does seem genuinely sentimental about the next part.] Besides, I grew this for someone important to me.

Is that so? I knew women who loved flowers, but I never gave them any. [He can relate to the second part.] I still have flowers that someone important to me grew here, but I gave some to her close friends some who were my own.

See! Now I might not be any kind of expert when it comes to flowers, but they hold a lot of meanin' to people. It's quite impressive actually.

The flowers I own are called Heaven's Mirror, because they shine brightly in the darkness and reflect a light very close to heaven's light.

Heaven's Mirror? I'm not sure how a flower can reflect heaven... But they sound pretty mystical.

[He points the journal camera towards the flowers he's growing. Bright orange lilies, and plenty of them.]

The ones I'm growin' are called Fire Lilies.

[He looks at the flowers through the camera then looks rather fascinated by them.]

They are very beautiful, thank you for sharing them with me. I would show you a Heaven's Mirror, but it's in a bud right now because it only blooms at night.

A flower that only blooms at night? I thought flowers needed the sun to survive?

Well during the day, these flowers stay in their buds and absorb the sunlight. Then when it turns to night, they let out all the sunlight they absorbed during the day.

Oh! So they're... sun absorbing night lights?... That sounds strange.
