Today was a good day. My mother had to work from 11-11 and Kimberly won't be here until wednesday night, but we still had a nice celebration. I woke up later than everyone else as always. i think im still arguing with my pastor inside my head.
he just makes me so angry because it seems he does not view women as capable. he doesnt think women should be involved in government... be bosses or have any authoritive position.. he says it's his opinion and it's not in the bible. so, i'll give him that.
i dont really see myself ever becoming an "elder" or really have any desire to, but there are other women who i am sure are very capable of the position. this especially bothers me when he (pastor jim) says that there should be no female pastors or elders... or to have any authoritive position over men... but paul states women should not dominate men.... where else do you see that specific word in the bible? i have never come accross it. You are supposed to view them as equals... and.... Apollos was an authoritive figure in the bible... as i stated before... and two women took him aside and taught him more accurately the ways of God..... also paul recognized and called for the respect of his co equal partners in ministry.... he called the women ministers...
if you would like me to find the quotes i will gladly. i just want to know the truth... or atleast get closer to it... because it seems his interpretation is a little off.... maybe not
thanks for the explanation btw!!
