Got Disturbed's latest a week ago, Asylum. Been listening to it all week.
Unfortunately, we were really spoiled with Indestructible and everything leading to it, weren't we? Four great albums, successively getting better each time, finishing in near perfection. I guess it had to end sometime.
Now don't get me wrong, I love it. There's three amazing songs I can't stop listening to already, and the others have potential. The "hidden" 13th track is another fantastically done cover, akin to "Land of Confusion" from Ten Thousand Fists. As has come to be expected, many tracks are composed beautifully, and for lack of a better word, catchy. You can't get them out of your head, but in a good way.
But, I'll admit it's a bit disappointing that the streak had to end. Really though, I don't know how Indestructible could have been topped. I'm pretty sure reality would have collapsed had they surpassed it. :)
No matter what though, I have still never regretted one cent of what I've spent on any Disturbed album. Hell, I almost wish they charged more.
