So we went to The Carleton last night for dinner for our anniversary. It was one of the best meals I have ever had there. I always refrain from getting any pasta dishes but the veal Linguine sounded way to goo to pass up.
It was veal cutlets (I know poor cow...too late) Over linguine with asparagus, prosciutto, in a Kettle One Gruyere Sauce. AMAZING!!!!
I also had my traditional Carleton Salad which I didn't have to tell the waiter I wanted because the wait staff there is unbelievable!!!! Since we have been going there a few times a year for the past 10 + years the wait staff knows us and usually know what we get. HE was actually surprised that I didn't order a steak or some fish since THAT is my usual.
Dessert was also good after talking my husband of 3 years to NOT get a glass of Johnny Walker Blue Label which would have cost as much as his meal did. We thought about going somewhere after, maybe the casino, maybe just walk around some where although it was raining but after a huge meal and a really AWESOME bottle of wine, we decided to head home and see the babe. We made the right choice.
This weekend we are headed to the in-laws though I really don't feel like going at all. Departure time was supposed to be 9 am although I am the only one up at this point. We have decided to buy half a cow, or a side of beef form a butcher and split it a 4 ways with family. The meat comes to about $3.00 a pound and that includes all cuts, steaks, roasts, etc. We are really excited about doing this and hope it 1. saves us money and 2. is worth it. I am worried about freezer room but we can always leave some with the sister in law to put in their chest freezer till we got back to ohio to pick it up.
its time for some eggs.
