The border crossing into Canada at Highgate Springs, Vermont does not have cameras that take very obvious photos of you as you roll up to the booth. It does not have mirrors in the road surface meant to reveal human traffic strapped to your suspension. It does not have a parliamentary commission breathing down its neck asking why it did not catch ( Read more... )

When I went through that border for the Montreal Convergence, I was disappointed that I didn't get a stamp in my passport. :-/

the green room was really vile (color wise) in person (ethan and i got to sneak into all the vacant rooms after the other guests had checked out)

i think that the ivory room was my favorite, if only because it had a -huge- tub, and was actually way better looking in person than in the pictures. i was sad it didn't have a fireplace though

We're going back in the end of July to catch the Fantasia Film Fest and have booked the Ivory Room this time around.

What time did you guys leave?

that's cool. we're prolly going back for mutek but we're also trying to figure out going to europe, so i don't know which will get priority. mutek takes place at metropolis though, so it would make sense to go since the sound was so good.

we left around noonish? i mean, we vacated the room around 11, and then went to find an ATM so we could skip the taxes

Rue Ste. Catherine is vile on weekends. Bleh.

My favorite saint street name in Montreal is Sainte Zotique. I don't know what she was the saint of, but Zotique is the best saint name ever. If I were Catholic I'd take it as my confirmation name.

Did you see the collection of nativity scenes at St. Joseph's? It doesn't sound interesting on the surface but it's actually quite cool, they come from all over the world so you can see what various cultures think the nativity ought to have looked like, what animals should have been there, what gifts would have been brought, etc.
