Ive been wanting to meet this guy i talk to on mt punk for the longest time. Well tonight i bit the bullet, set up a meet for coffee, and waited.
Well he called me a little before nine (pm) and i suggested we meet at the raven because it was open late. (my mistake)
Im driving past to park my truck and i see him standing out front. Turns out the raven is closed (with the sign turned to open), but he's waiting patiently for me to arrive.
I walk up to him and say "huh, looks like its closed."
He gets all confused and answers "uh, are you the one i was suppose to meet here?"
Now this wouldnt seem to unusual, except he's seen my pics on myspace and should know better.
We walk around for about a half hour looking for a coffee place that is open and finally settle for liquid planet.
In my world coffee is coffee. Even starbucks. I really have no preference except i ask for a strong drink. He, on the other hand talks about how he prefers certain coffee places and starts to bash on liquid planet. Apparently it looks elitest. He hadnt even been there. I suggest we just order and leave. So we do.
I suggest we just sit at the park and talk a bit. He seems to agree, yet just keeps walking.
So we end up walking to his apartment complex.
"yeah, i live here...anyway i have to be up at 6 so i'll see you later."
Now, normally i wouldnt just meet some guy over the internet in the evening because of safety reasons (just for the record). We have 2 mutual friends tho so i wasnt concerned about it. I thought "2 mutual friends? we should be friends."
So here i am, left outside his apartment complex, its dark outside and i now have to walk like 8 blocks back to my truck.
Obviously i survived...but im pissed. Its amazing how over the internet you can be so well spoken, interesting, witty, and funny.
In person...bla.
Definitely did not make my expectations. At all.
Not that i was "looking for love in all the wrong places.." i was just looking for a friendship here in missoula.
Moral of the story kiddos...
Leave internet people on the internet. Or else you will be sorely disappointed next time you chat.
