[Character] Nunnally vi Britannia
[Series] Code Geass

[Birthday/Sign/Age] October 25, 2003 (Scorpio/Sheep); 15 (officially 16 in Discedo though her looks haven't changed)

[Height] 5'1" (standing); approximately three-and-a-half feet in her wheelchair

[Description] Nunnally’s appearance is what one would expect from a princess. Her hair is light brown and is so long that she is barely not sitting on it. On formal occasions, her bangs are left to curl around her face while the part above her ears is pulled back and braided into a sort of crown, and she sports two very large ringlets on either side of her neck. Otherwise, she prefers to leave it loose and wavy.

She shares the same light violet eyes as the rest of the Britannian royal family, though hers are darker than her half-sibling’s eyes but not as dark as her brother’s. She usually keeps her eyes closed instead of staring sightlessly, a remnant from her childhood. As a seven-year-old, Nunnally found it easier to cope by imagining that her eyes wouldn’t open, as if she was a fairytale princess cursed by an evil witch. Because of her disabled legs, she has a rather delicate frame due to little physical activity and pale skin from staying inside most of the time.

Nunnally is rather fond of frilly Lolita dresses (originally Lelouch and Sayoko’s choices for her), pastels, and bright red, though she has to be careful that her clothes don’t clash too badly with her elaborate pink and gold wheelchair. Her formal outfit is pink and white with a matching butterfly choker.

Nunnally’s legs really were paralyzed from gunshot wounds during the incidents surrounding her mother’s death eight years ago, though she very recently broke her father’s Geass and regained her sight. Still, she chooses to hide this discovery from the world until the time is right…perhaps to try to convince her brother to give up this crazy plan of his.

[Personality] Despite all that she’s been through and all that’s been taken from her, Nunnally is an extremely kindhearted person. The only time she ever complains about her situation is when her disabilities prevent her from helping someone she cares about. Her friends and remaining family are very important to her; in fact, it’s probably because of the kindness showered upon her that Nunnally has become such a gentle person.

Nunnally does not hold the same grudge against her father or siblings that Lelouch does and is instead glad for any sort of contact with them, no matter how indirect. This can get her in trouble as she expects them to treat her like Lelouch and Euphy do and doesn’t suspect that they might be lying to her. Of all of her half-siblings, she is probably closest to Euphy, both as a friend and personality-wise. Both of them believe that a gentler world can be created from within and without violence, and it is this and her love for her sister that lead Nunnally to recreate the Special Administrative Zone when she becomes the Viceroy.

Though at first glance one would think Nunnally to be easy to manipulate, she can be surprisingly perceptive. She is aware that Mrs. Lohmeyer tends to downplay negative effects of laws or projects on the Japanese and is adamant that the document in question be rewritten until it causes the least amount of discomfort possible. Nunnally has an uncanny ability to completely understand a situation by taking someone’s hand, a skill she acquired out of habit and necessity (people tend to hold her hand while talking to her, so she began to notice certain patterns). She is extremely strong-willed when defending her beliefs, though unlike others around her, she will not hurt people in the process. This is evident both times a Geass is cast on her. The first time, when her father rewrote her memories and made her “blind,” she stayed under its control for eight years before breaking the blindness part with her own willpower in a desperate search for the key to Damocles. (Note: whether or not this affected her memories or if she is even aware that her father used Geass on her is never addressed. I am going to assume that it did not and she does not for RP purposes if needed.) The second time, when Lelouch orders her to hand over said key, she tries unsuccessfully to resist before succumbing. Nunnally and Euphy are the only ones who have had the willpower to resist Lelouch’s Geass for any period of time.

Although Nunnally has been reinstated as a princess, she sees it as a means to accomplish her goals instead of a position to be taken advantage of. In fact, she would have been perfectly happy if V.V. had never taken her away from Ashford Academy and she could have continued to live peacefully with Lelouch, Suzaku, and their friends. She is incredibly devoted to her older brother, only losing her normal calm demeanor if he’s in trouble or not acting as he should. Once she even told Mao, who had kidnapped her, that she would never forgive him if he made Lelouch sad (note that her concern was never for herself, only for him). Until he uses Geass on her, she seems to be unable of believing that he brother had gone completely bad. She revealed both her plan and that she had regained her sight in an effort to make him back down. It failed and she yelled at him, calling him a demon, but in the end she was one of the few people to understand Zero Requiem on their own.

She tends to work through things in her head instead of saying them out loud, especially if her thoughts are doubts or worries. Nunnally dislikes troubling people and making them worry about her, so she’s much more likely to try to hide negative feelings behind a smile or redirect the conversation away from herself.

[Canon] In the first season, Nunnally was mainly a motivation for people (notably Lelouch, Euphemia, and Suzaku) to go out and change the world so that it would be friendlier to powerless people like her. She was everything to Lelouch, who would completely lose his normal composure both times she was kidnapped. One of the many reasons Euphy wants to create the Special Administrative Zone is for Lelouch and Nunnally’s sake. Even at the end of the first season, Suzaku insists that he will be the one to protect Nunnally and that Lelouch is no longer needed. However, Nunnally does little on her own besides act as a junior member of the Student Council. She is a good friend to the other members of the Student Council, particularly Shirley, and usually ends up getting dragged into their insanity. She is kidnapped twice in the first season, first by Mao and later by V.V.. Her second kidnapping arguably causes the Black Knights to lose the Battle of Tokyo because as soon as he hears that she’s missing, Lelouch abandons the Black Knights to go rescue her.

It’s in the second season that she is given the chance to strive for the “gentle world” she wants for everyone as the new viceroy of Area 11. She is reinstated as a princess and finally has a form of power, which she uses to its full extent to the exasperation of pretty much everyone around her but the Knights of Rounds. Nunnally shared her sister Euphy’s views on how the Japanese/Elevens should be treated and stands up for those beliefs even when the rest of her council opposes her and tries to trick her.

For most of the second season, Nunnally is seen as a hostage. Lelouch worries that Nunnally will be harmed if anyone finds out that he’s still Zero, so after Charles sees him during the attack on the Geass Order, he has another lapse in judgment and reveals himself to Suzaku just to beg him to protect Nunnally from their father. When she is later believed to have been killed by F.L.E.I.J.A. in the ensuing battle, both of them are devastated.

Nunnally wasn’t dead, though, even though her transport had been caught in the blast radius. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Schneizel found her first and proceeded to tell her just enough of the truth to make her turn on Lelouch and Suzaku while feeding her enough lies to keep her from turning on him as well. While she declared herself Lelouch’s enemy during a video confrontation, privately she tried to come up with a way to stop everything from getting out of hand and redirect the world’s hate at the Damocles itself. That way all of the fighting would finally stop and things could, she hoped, go back to the way they used to be. However, she was also willing to have Lelouch caught in F.L.E.I.J.A.’s blast and killed if that was the only way to stop him and end the bloodshed. She never forgot the weight of being the one in control of the switch, crying before firing it and later calling herself a murderer. During their final face-to-face confrontation, Lelouch used Geass to force Nunnally to give him the key to the Damocles, not because he didn’t want to be able to stay with her but because it’s harder for people to hate a symbol than to hate a person. She was later captured though it is unknown what conditions she was held in during the time skip. Afterwards, Nunnally is seen as a prisoner at the execution of the leaders of Lelouch’s opposition and only realizes Lelouch’s true goal after Zero fatally stabs him. She cries and screams hysterically while the crowd cheers for Zero, yelling that this wasn’t the world she wanted. In the epilogue, Nunnally becomes an important diplomatic figure with Zero and a Geassed Schneizel at her side.

So in general, she is the motivation and peacekeeper (or at least, she tries to be).

[Timeline] Episode 24 of R2 (has just regained her sight but not been through the confrontation at the end)

[Headcanon] The extent of Nunnally's injuries is never actually detailed in the series. But based on how difficult it would have been for her to turn around in that position with paralyzed legs- almost impossible to do so quickly- I assume that she still has some limited ability to move them though they cannot support her and no nerve damage. If one ever sees her legs, they might notice some scarring. Her lie detecting ability is also never explained; I am playing it as a combination of reading heartbeat, body temperature, or any subtle twitches along with one's voice.

Nunnally is also a pretty good singer and has had formal training, first as a child and later because it was one of the few hobbies she could participate in as well as anyone else. Examples ➞  Yasashii Sekai and Tiara no Kimochi

There's a lot in the final episodes and epilogue that Sunrise handwaved and left to headcanon, and I'm perfectly willing to work things out with castmates! Please just let me know if you want to make something RP-canon; for example, Nunnally giving Suzaku a birthday present during the year timeskip.

[Poly Items]
- clothes (including the butterfly choker she received as a birthday present in the timeskip)
- pink, white, and gold motorized wheelchair

[OOC]
1). Backtagging: Yes, gladly! And just poke me if you want me to tag something.
2). Threadhopping: As long as any hacking is within your character's ability. "Fail!lock" is Nunnally's own lock and incredibly easy to hack, but other people's locks may require more skill.
3). Fourthwalling: Maybe...please ask first.
4). Canon puncture: I don't know what this is, so let's just say no.
5). Offensive subjects (elaborate): What even constitutes 'offensive'? Nothing explicit. Cursing is fine, child definitions of something like 'lolicon' are fine, but no birds and bees talks or kinky things kthxbai.

[IC]
1). Hugging this character: Yes. Nunners tends to give away hugs quite freely.
2). Kissing this character: Be warned that Lelouch may kill you for anything more than a hand kiss if you aren't family or Suzaku, but go ahead.
3). Flirting with this character: Again, Lelouch and Suzaku may hurt you for it and she won't really get it, but go ahead.
4). Fighting with this character: It really won't be much of a fight and you'd have to go through several people just to get to her...so I'm going to say no unless we are plotting something and castmates have been allowed to veto it.
5). Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Please see #4 and contact me first.
6). Killing this character: No unless you've got a really good reason. See #4.
7). Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Let me know if you need me to type out thoughts, though keep in mind that she is extremely strong-willed and there are layers to what you can easily find.
