Spring is here!!
That means going to Lodi for lazy days at my granny's house, opening windows, and gardening!
Speaking of gardening, I signed up to be notified when the city of Lakewood's LEAF organization will be offering plots in their community gardens for the summer. They haven't gotten to me, and I'm starting to wonder if they're even doing it this year. It could just be too early still though. I really want to have a garden this year. One of the downsides to living in an apartment. :(
Paul and I are aiming to move out by this October or earlier. There are so many nice places on Craigslist, and I know, because it's become my new obsession! Well, I just like looking at what's out there. There are a couple of buildings along Edgewater and Lake, and one on West Clifton (by Rocky River) that I have my eye on and I hope there are openings this fall. There are some really dumpy places out there too- and for anybody considering Lakewood, stay away from AIY Properties! Jessy told me a couple of horror stories about those people- one she experienced herself. They also have a rating of "F" on Better Business Bureau's website. I did a little research, and some of the good companies to rent from are CKE Properties and Winwood, which has an "A-" rating. Of course, you can't really research the buildings that have private owners, but you can look the address up and see if the building is in foreclosure, and if they've paid their taxes on time.
The other thing I'm super excited about is that in a couple of months, I'll have all my credit cards paid off completely. (Also the reason I've been so poor lately). I'm glad to be able to set off on good financial footing on moving out with my boyfriend, because we're sort of planning on it being a permanent kind of thing. Eh, I've learned a lot about living within my means, and I don't find it embarrassing at all to talk about. I was young and stupid with my money, (and I still can be, to some degree!)
I promise I'll have more interesting things to talk about soon.
