Its been a rather long time since I last updated and since then many things have happened and many more things have changed for me.
Firstly a quick run down of memorable events since my last update all those many months ago.
September
- Went to see Robbie Williams - such an amazing show had a great day despite fighting with a steward who tried to pull my wheelchair.
- Also bought a sombrero when we drove to Bolton to watch the Boro.
October
- Pretty much a quiet month to be honest.
November
- Went to the Rocky Horror Show wearing a French Maid’s outfit with frilly knickers and fish net tights, oh and Steve dressed as Riff Raff!
December
- Went to see Morrissey at Newcastle Arena and despite my initial apprehensions he was actually amazingly good and I really enjoyed it!
- Also went to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year with Tanni where I met some amazing people including one of my gods Phil ‘The Power” Taylor and a rather dishier than he looks on TV Owen Hargreaves.
- Christmas was amazing - quite possibly one of the best Christmases I’ve ever had! New Year was a bit pants though as I was ill with an infection that made my big toe turn purple!
January
Have spent most of this month planning my holiday which I go on in two weeks. Me and Steve are going to the Eternal City of Rome for 4days!!! So excited although I do miss the FA cup replay and possible the 5th round match against West Brom which will be the return of Tony Mowbray to the Boro but nevermind I’ll be in Rome flouncing about looking at famous art work and buildings such as the Colliseum!
I wasn’t going to bother updating anymore but I read some things that got me thinking about how things have changed over the past twelve months. This time last year I was planning on trying to go to Australia with Bootman for a few weeks this January to race out there. Oh, how plans can change. There will be those people out there who think I have flaked on the plan. The actual reason is about ten fold most of which has been talked about over and over again. I was planning on going out to race. In July last year I stopped racing. Therefore there was no reason for forking out the expense of going when I have other things that I have to safe money for such as for a deposit for a house, paying off debts etc.
The past year has been the most dramatic of my life with so many things changing. I met/re-met/got back in touch with the most amazing person in the world who I have fell totally in love with and who I hate being away from and who I very much plan on settling down with and spending the rest of our lives together. Yes this has probably meant that I haven’t spent nearly as much time with any of my friends as I should, I mean I still have Julie’s Christmas present (not that its totally my fault that I still have it, people are very busy lately!). It probably is my fault that I haven’t seen as much of them as I should but I have tried. Sometimes you can only try so hard.
I started to think at one point lately that maybe I was stuck in a rut and had not moved on with my life but then I thought some more about it and realised that I have moved on. I got myself a job (it may not be the most ideal but it pays), I have met the person I am going to spend my life with and we are looking forward at the prospect of getting a house, possibly a wedding and after that who knows. A year ago today if someone had told me that all this would seemingly fall into place with ease I would have laughed in their face and told them to piss off. How strange life can be.
Things certainly have changed. I’m a totally different person now. And the best bit? I’m happy.
