WOOOOOOOWWWWWW, Im reading Jose Cansecos new book. My mom picked it up for me, this is the only time ive gotten hooked up by my mom working at a library. Im excited to read the rest, and although im only like 20 pages in, its deffinently my new faveorite book. It beats out "Mr. Poppers Penguins" which is pretty much the only book ive ever read once and deffinently the only book ive read through twice. Thats kind of gross and embarassing to think about, but i dont have time for books, im too busy goin out and gathering information about my book one day. ha. Anywaaaays, like i said, im enjoying this book; although that dosent mean i dont think it is horribly written and contradicting and a complete pile of horse shit.
Lets just focus on the terribly written aspect: 2 different paragraphs, located only 2 pages apart
"As I expiremented more, I started trying different cattagoies of steroids. Different types do certain things to the muscles, the skin, the hair, and your quick muscle twitch fibers. Every steroid played a different part. And when you combined them with growth hormones, the effect was just incredible."
And number 2...pay attention its hard to tell the difference
"I was educating myself on all aspects of steroids- from why they were invented, to their chemical makeup, how to use them properly, what dosages, how to cycle them off, how to cycle them on, which steroids did what for the body, which one was good or strength, or for quick-muscle-twitch fiber, or foot speed. I wanted to keep getting better and better every year and i was seeing steroids could help me do that.
And that was probably the third time so far...in 20 pages...that i had to read through ramblings about his steroid expertise or knowledge.
Im no big time publisher but i dont see how you could let that crap pass under your nose
Another thing he wont stop writin about is how he "made a promise" to his mother and said "I promise to be the best athlete in the world, no matter what it takes." He adds the "whatever it takes" part in as a sort of safety net. Its so predictable, i can see him pulling that out in chapter 26 about how the promise to his dying mother was to be the best athlete "no matter what it takes" and everyone knows....you cant break a promise to your dying mother. OOOOOhh i understand now.....he HAD to take steroids, he HAD to!
.....and i cant put it down
