As I said in my last post, I successfully negotiated a deal with the one and only debt that Jenni has. They faxed me the offer at my request, stating that the payment of $1647 will settle the account in full and they will cease collection activites (which really wasn't anything more than the occassional phone call that went ignored). I got paid on Friday so Jenni got a cashiers check for $1647, went to the post office and sent the check and a copy of the settlement letter via Express Overnight mail with return reciept confirmation. They got it at 11am Saturday and signed for it so it's a done deal. Settled and finished and filed away in the filing cabinet. We kept copies of everything single thing revolving around this deal and we'll keep it forever and ever amen so that, 10 years from now it won't be reserected as what's called a zombie debt. Now we only have a few more to go and those should be gone by the fall. My credit card will be gone by June. Citifinancial will be gone by August and my old truck payment will be gone October or November. Actually all this isn't counting the car. According to my calculations that should be paid off by this time next year. Maybe sooner.
I'm so glad that I got this Bulk Driver job. It pays alot more than the Bay Driver position so that will speed up our goals of becoming debt free.
Jenni and I had some lunch today at the local park by the river since it was such a beautiful day. 80 degrees, no humidity and not a cloud in the sky. I worked on another painting this morning. The girlfriend of a friend of mine saw some of my artwork and told me that she wants me to do a picture of her. She wants to spend some time thinking of the right pose she wants because she wants it to be just right. In the meantime I told her that I would do up a few smaller pieces from some existing pictures that she uploaded to her Myspace to give her an idea of my abilities and how I could make her look. I did a sketch earlier last week and this morning I did an oil painting with a watercolor background. She really liked the sketch but hasn't gotten back to me on the oil. She said that a friend of hers saw the sketch and now she wants one done of her. And an old school chum I found on Facebook saw some of my pics and he wants me to do one of his son. I may be making some extra cash on the side in no time which will go towards the debt.
Here are the two pictures I did. They were both done using Corel Painter X and my Wacom pentablet. The two best things an artist could ever get their hands on.
