You know how sometimes when you go see your doctor, who's part of a larger practice, you end up being seen by a different doctor? Annoying.
Today, instead of being seen by my gynecologist, I was seen by a midwife. I'M NOT PREGNANT! WTF? lol!!!!Of course, she was uber nice, and me being me and finding all sorts of possibilities interesting, I

"I don't hate babies, but I don't know how to act around them, either. Maybe it's because I was a "weird kid," and I can't relate...? I dunno...I just feel like small children don't like me for whatever reason."
I can relate to that as well. I don't know if this is your case, but I was/am an only child, and I wasn't very social, so I never really interacted with siblings or peers my age. Additionally, everyone in my house is really old (seriously, my mother's the youngest, and she's 62!), so I grew up around adults, and learned how to behave and act like them, not like a regular kid. This partially contributes to a bit of a paradox...
Even though I don't children, I think I treat them more respectfully than most people. Let me explain. Most people treat babies like babies (you know, talk to them like they only understand unintelligible syllables), toddlers like toddlers, etc. I treat everyone the same. I treat everyone like adults who are fully capable of understanding intelligent thought and having valid opinions (**cynicism** I know plenty of adults who are not at all capable of understanding intelligent thought, but that's beside the point). It is partly because of how I grew up around adults, but it's largely because even though I don't like them, I don't think children should be treated or viewed as if they're any less of a person (I don't think anyone should obviously). It really pisses me off when adults disregard what children think or how they feel about something. And where I'm going with this is that because I don't baby them like they're used to, but rather take them seriously, they don't quite know what to make of me or how to act around me.
"I'm on the job hunt too...not so much a hunt as a "walk down the street to Rite Aid." I steeled my nerves and went in there the other day to ask for an application, only to be told to come back on a weekday."
I recently got a job... and quit, within a week. If you get a letter from Vector Marketing (they mostly seek out -- practically TROLL -- recent high school graduates and college students), don't call in for an interview. I've added you to my friends list so you can read my most recent entry about it (and because I like you ;) ). My entry is actually pretty cryptic, but anyway I just had such a horrible experience working for them that I felt I should warn anyone seeking a job. They're as close to a scam as you can get without actually breaking the law. They're misleading both in the way that they offer jobs and in the way they (by they, I mean how "one[self]" is taught to) present the product line. I feel like I'm soapboxing, and I've read that not every branch of Vector has the same shady policies, AND everyone is entitled to form their own opinion about something, but I really did have the most hellish week working for them, so I feel it's my duty to try to prevent others from going through the same. lol
By the way, when I headed over to your userinfo page to add you, I saw your Halloween Jack costume, and it's pretty spiffy!! I really like the top you used -- I think even a little bit more than the shirt he's wearing! He should have consulted you before filming the video ;) For a long time now I've wanted to dress as Halloween Jack for Halloween (lol! I never noticed that **feels dumb**), but I didn't think it could actually be done, but... you've proved that it can!
