...literally. As in, glue-gunning a squee's tail to a squee's hide. Guess why.

I'm so happy I'm creating stuff again! Even if it's not for cosplay. Heck, it may be even better that it's not for cosplay, for once. I'm still planning to go as Yuna's mom aka you do the rest of the family tree at Riminicomix, and hopefully have Bone's Thorn and #sworcery's Scythian ready for Lucca, but for now I'm making dolls. For this awesome contest of awesome here. It's something I've been wanting to do since I was a child. I made a horse out of corks and iron wire back then, no kidding, but I wanted them to be soft! And huggable! And now that I can do soft&huggable materials, who's more huggable than... you know. Dresses in red, jumps on people's heads, wields a hammer, everybody loves him...

Actually, I wanted to make Yeesha, but I was scared that I would botch my first foam rubber project + Saavedro's design fits the material waaay better + nobody likes Yeesha, ever ç_ç
(you know who else would fit this technique? Braska! I could finally make a companion for my Auron action figure and hope for Dissidia to provide a Jecht.) (and also reproduce that design for the fifth time XD)
Dolls aside... partial change of plans for the Myst movie, apparently? Thoughts?
I'm still putting my "I'm trusting these guys whatever the project" hat on and Cyan seems to be more involved than ever, so... cautious optimism?
I don't know what they're planning, but I'd looove it if they could invent a new story that could better fit all the requirements of a movie format. Ditch the complications and give us new canon, since Cyan is on board. Be bold! From what they've written, they need Myst Island, they need shiny Ages and of course they need accessibility... come on Rand, Tony and everyone else! What happened on Myst Island and elsewhere, pre- or post-1806, that any newbie could understand? Be awesome! *crosses finger*
On the other hand, I still feel that BoT is a powerful story that could have been told better and this seems to be the proverbial myst opportunity. And Anna and Veovis were basically the only main characters we don't have a face for! Drats. Now they're back to Calam-land.
More than anything, I hope they're ditching the time shift. I don't care if it's Middle East or New Mexico (movie based on book modifying real events for secrecy blah blah), but the discovery of D'ni is 1712 or bust - and a recent script for BoT was purportedly set in the early XX century. Which would change Anna's upbringing and make her a more 'modern' character... but you know what the deal is with a chronology that's as busy as the "Era of abandonment"'s? You shift a date, you shift the entire thing with it. Do the math and... 1900something + (1806-1712) =... the Stranger is you! *o* Shoot me if that wasn't intentional, and it's been the only thing so far that I have notnotnot been a-ok with. I really wish that we're going back to any form of currently known canon.
...this kinda means that my drabble on Zandi taking Yeesha to the movie's premiere and Yeesha being overprotective of her grand-grandmother is jossed, eh? Ah well. As long as the one about fanfiction still holds.
PS the symbols on Saavedro's curtain... has anyone deciphered them? They don't even look Narayani to me, I have no idea what to reproduce exactly ò_o What about the back of his cloth?
