Music Goodness!!!

So tonight is the 50th anniversary concert of the NY Choral Society at Carnegie Hall.
The music is gorgeous and I cannot wait to sing it.
For those that don't know the program is:

"Whitman's New York" - A world premiere work by Stephen Paulus
Dona Nobis Pacem - Ralph Vaughn Williams
Stabat Mater - Rossini

All the works are quite good. I loved the Stabat Mater from the beginning as that is true choral music right in the sweet spot (especially the last fugal movement).

I liked the Vaughn Williams in piano rehearsals, but after hearing it with the soloists and full orchestra during rehearsal Tuesday night, I LOVE it!!!

In other NYCS news, I was asked the other week to join the Board of Managers!!! I'm honored that they asked me to join after not even one year in the group. I'm looking forward to the experience.

Also, I was asked yesterday (on recommendation) to do some solo and small group work for an upcoming Gilbert & Sullivan concert at Symphony Space in NYC on May 18th....I"m very psyched about this. Have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks though! WHOO HOO!!!
