Writer's Block: Dream Job

Feb 12, 2009 19:20

i am going to respond to the writer's block question:
If you could have any job in the world, what would it be.

This is a difficult question for me, as all I can think of are the "What Ifs?". Do I need Training? Natural Talent? Assesability to whatever materials that i would need to do the job? is it a real life job, or could i be an auror? i'll address those each, so that i answer my own questions.
If i needed to finish a training, but knew that i would excell, no matter what, then i would want to act. i love the idea of becoming someone else, living in their world, if only for a few moments. i would want to get a job on broadway, or in another theatre setting. movie actors have too much time to edit, retake, etc. on stage, if you mess up, you have to cover it well. no one is going to come from the wings, yell "cut!" and save your neck. even an actress with the greatest memory for lines, may stutter time to time, and she still has to be able to slough it off and continue the performance.
Natural Talent is something that i lack in many areas. i seem ok at sewing, but i tend to lack the patience and training. i know that i have skill, talent, whatever, but i need to be trained up a bit. If i didn't need natural talent, i would want to be a singer/songwriter. I would be skinny, have tons of money, Etc. hobnobbing with the famous seems like fun sometimes. emphasis on sometimes.
I have no accessability to anything. no i take that back. lots of stuff is available, but i don't have the money. i would have to say a professional seamstress here too. i love to sew, and have been in a crafty mood too. being a professional psychic would be kinda cool, if i was any good at it.
in the realm of fantasy jobs, a dragon rider, auror, anything in the wizrding community would be cool, and who doesn't want to pilot a spaceship of some sort?

that was probably more than they bargained for when they asked the question, but they cured my writers' block.

careers, writer's block, jobs
