So, I got a call from my old boss (from the eco-friendly home store, the job I had to quit cuz she couldn't give me enough hours) gave me a call last week to get together, so the next day I stopped by the shop and we talked for a VERY long time...
Basically, she's offered me my job back with full time hours and the option to manage a new store when she expands. Needless to say, I'm staying at the Co-op this week to finish out the pay period, and after that I'll be working at my old job! YAY!! We're putting ideas together for fun things like workshops, new lines for the store, and events.
I'm helping her this Tuesday with putting together two rooms, a living room and a bedroom, for the pre-oscar party at... hell. I forget the name. It's a green/sustainable building cooperative I think. Anyway, She was waiting to talk to me for some of the stuff to get my opinion of what we should do! I feel loved. :) Her doberman, Bruno, was even happy to see me. Things are CERTAINLY looking up.
Jeremy is working a lot for a new magazine, Luxury Life and Style, doing pieces on architecture and things, and he just finished his second feature for them a couple days ago, a piece on Green Building in the South Bay. We're really getting into what we want to be doing, which makes me very happy. It's a HUGE plus as well that we're getting into sustainability and things to help the planet.
We went to the Home Remodeling and Design Show last night, and I was severely disappointed by their "green" undercurrent. 75% of the green companies were vinyl windows. Energy efficient, yes, but please. There were only a very few booths that we actually stopped to talk to. One booth was cool though because they were showing "An Inconvenient Truth" and the booth next door they'd set up a thing where you could talk to people about it, and the lady that was manning the booth told me they have a bunch of people trained in Al Gore's presentation, and they do around doing free presentations for people, businesses, schools, etc. So, CHECK PLUS! Got material for one of Earth Accents' workshops.
Another show coming up in March is the Natural Products Expo, which will be far better for us in the way of drumming up business and findig new material. I've been signed up for this since last year, because we couldn't make it down last year. It's been an anxious anticipation, let me tell you. I'm taking that whole 4-day weekend off for that, because I HAVE TO! Damnit! I'm not going to miss a moment this time.
What else... Oh! Willow found a home with a very nice family. I named the rescue kitten Willow, because they were going to name her SweetPea. *shudder* I would've named her Hazel but that's not as popular. heh. Willow. :D
FINALLY I DON'T FEEL LIKE UTTER HELL COVERED IN POO AND PLASTIC WRAP! w007.
Life = Good
