He’s always been partial to brunettes but her golden hair falling in soft waves around her shoulders mesmerizes him, the strands shining golden like a halo framing her face, mocking him for the devil he truly is because she is one of those creatures far too good for someone like him to turn his gaze upon.
Her smile is angelic, her eyes are bright and crystal clear and her voice whispers over him like a light summer breeze.
When he sees her he sees perfection, innocence, beauty and a kind of purity he should never be allowed to touch.
He wants to bring her down to his level so badly he can taste it.
Because there’s something about Haley James that just begs to be corrupted and there’s no one in the world bar Chuck himself that could do that job justice.
It’s funny how rapidly his obsession grows, consuming him wholly, how the need to devour her settles into his stomach, seeps into his blood and pumps up into his brain until having her is all he can think about and the only thing he dreams.
He’s sailed this ship before, played this exact game only last time the other participant had been fully aware of his intentions if not an equal partner on an equal playing field.
But this girl, this small town girl with her virtue and her morals, with her pedestal and her gleaming halo hair knew nothing, she didn’t even suspect.
There is no way in hell he deserves her but he wants her and he’ll have her because he’s never really been noble enough to deny himself the things in life he most craves.
