Huh. Well, it's an NES game. And IMO, the jump in characterization from FE1 to FE2 is like going from black-and-white TV to color.
Rudolf is awesome, and Mycen is a really cool old dude, IMO. I dunno, I just also feel such serious love for Cellica and a lot of her party-- Jesse, Jenny, the Peg Knights. Compared with the bare-bones Hero's Quest of FE1, FE2 just feels to me so warm and humorous and intimate. A lot of characters have happy romantic endings, even!
I'm on chapter 6 of Genealogy and also still mostly "meh".
Yeah, I can't get into most of the characters there. I tried, and they just don't work for me. Levin's pretty cool, though.
Maybe I need to look at FE1 to compare them, but as it is, I almost got no feeling for the world. Maybe it would be better if I could play it since it feels kind of... distant just reading it.
I loved Djute´s ending. How often do you have a character ending where the person just stays a happy single?
