"Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense."

I love when everything seems to fall into place perfectly, and a random idea that comes to me during an epic plane jaunt becomes lauded as one of the better modern teaching ideas this side of the country by the upper brass of the University. Also, I love when someone proves they harbor a complete lack of empathy for others, even when presented ( Read more... )

I would like to take that class, if you could "sneak me in" without getting into trouble.

I had a feeling you'd be interested, I can definitely take care of that. It's a big theater, I doubt anyone is going to care if I bring you along.

I look forward to the movie. I have heard good things about it, and I like the Comedian on the posters. Rorschach, too... and Dr. Manhattan.

May I write a dissertation?

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie in English, since I couldn't understand most of it when I saw it in Fukuoka. Trust me, they all look bad ass in the movie.

If you'd like to, I'll grade it and everything.

Bad... ass? There's something wrong with their...?

I always like to know where I can improve. I will begin to think about topics.

Bad ass is slang, it means they look fierce or like they have no tolerance for anyone's idiocy.

The idea will be to pick a character and psychoanalyze them as though you were their psychologist.

I understand. Though it sounds absurd, when said aloud it doesn't work too badly as slang. I am learning lots of new things of that nature, lately.

I would do a poor job, with certain characters. I feel that I would be overly judgmental on someone like the Comedian.

Some slang does sound absurd, this is too. Really, been speaking with Kankuro again?

It's difficult, with certain characters. Some there just isn't enough information on, and others are difficult not to have an extreme reaction to much like how you feel towards the Comedian. I'm hoping this assignment will spawn dialogue over why we interpret the characters the way we do, since no two people's papers should be the same.

I speak with lots of people, and most of them confuse me sometimes. It makes me wish that Watari had attempted to use some form of slang around me; I might have picked it up more easily.

Do you think that Rorschach is or was autistic? His mother tells one of her clients that he is "backwards," when he is a child in the comic.

Yeah, slang is incredibly common and most people would use it without thinking that someone might not get it. Stick with me kid, I'll teach you everything I know.

It's certainly possible, he had a unique view on the world. It's not mentioned in any sources, but it's a sound assumption.
