I hate time differences. I hate jet lag. I hate not being able to sleep because of ambiguous messages. I hate video conferencing and not having anyone I can call to whine at.
Also, I hate not knowing what to expect when I get home.
It's 12:40am, Thursday, where I am. The hotel is playing Return of the King in Japanese and I've actually understood most of it but my mind might be filling in the gaps.
I rode one of the world's tallest ferris wheels. It was amazing. Then some random guys decided to 'adopt' me and help me have a good time. Apparently I looked 'depressed' and 'morose' and they felt that just wasn't right.
We went to the movies and saw Watchmen, of which I barely understood a word but I laughed a lot. Glowing blue man-parts and moonlit sex scenes get me every time. Then, I got dragged to a karaoke bar because they kept telling me my voice was either adorable or terrifying - I'm not sure, I always confuse those words. I got plastered and sang the Aerosmith song 'Angel' but the guy I was singing it for never showed. I was pretty drunk so I didn't care, they kept clapping and cheering me on which made me feel fucking great. I'm sure I sounded like Hell, I can't sing.
They told me I swear a lot.
Since Saturday I have been on three planes. It's six and a half hours to Boston from San Francisco, a total of sixteen hours to Japan, and in a few hours I'll be going eleven hours back to San Fran. I'm hoping I can sleep on the plane, it's eluded me so far.
I'll take a cab from the airport, and then once the house is clean and I make sure Ryuzaki, Novalis, and Archimedes are alive and well I will sleep. If anyone would like to join me please feel free to, however unless you have a key you're probably not getting in. I really need to get laid, eventually...
